Divide the mixture into eight equal portions and form into patties.
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking.

Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and toast them, if desired.
