Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles
  • 1 pound chicken breast cooked and shredded
  • 2 large onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 teaspoon thyme dried
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add sliced onions.
  3. Cook onions for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and soft.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, egg noodles, caramelized onions, chicken broth, sour cream, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Top the mixture with shredded Gruyère cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
