Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 4 medium onions thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1-2 tablespoons chili oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • Fresh basil for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  3. Add sliced onions and stir frequently until golden and caramelized
  4. Incorporate chili oil, salt, and pepper to the onions
  5. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the onion and chili mixture
  6. Add reserved pasta water if needed to adjust consistency
