Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1 orange

Method
 

  1. Rinse the cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or blemished berries.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and orange juice. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add the fresh cranberries to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest, then continue cooking for about 10-15 minutes until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before transferring it to a serving dish.
