Ingredients
  

  • 1 French baguette
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the French baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  3. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil.
  4. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. While the bread toasts, prepare the strawberry topping.
  6. Combine the diced strawberries, chopped basil, balsamic glaze, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven.
  9. Top each slice of toasted bread with the strawberry mixture.
  10. Drizzle with extra balsamic glaze if desired.
