Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
