Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce minced
  • 1 tablespoon adobo sauce
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce tomato, and avocado for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, cheddar cheese, chipotle pepper, adobo sauce, cilantro, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties, about ¾ inch thick.
  3. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. If desired, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  6. Toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
