  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup buttermilk or milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: Chocolate glaze or sprinkles

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the donut pan.

  3. In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients: eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  8. Once completely cool, dip them in chocolate glaze and add toppings if desired.
