Crispy Air Fryer Falafels That Everyone Will Love

Air Fryer Falafels (Gluten Free, Vegan) made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small onion roughly chopped
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the baking powder and olive oil, then pulse a few more times until just combined.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls or patties, about 1-1.5 inches in diameter.
  5. Lightly coat the falafels with olive oil spray or brush them gently with oil.
  6. Arrange the falafels in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they're not touching.
  7. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Remove the falafels from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
