Create Heart-Shaped Quesadillas for Any Occasion

Heart-Shaped Quesadillas made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend
  • 1 cup cooked and seasoned protein chicken, beef, or beans
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Prepare the fillings by mixing cheese, protein, peppers, and onions.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with cooking spray or oil.
  3. Place one tortilla in the skillet, sprinkle half of the cheese mixture over one half of the tortilla, and fold the other half over it.
  4. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before cutting into heart shapes.
  6. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter or knife to cut into heart shapes and serve.
