Comforting Pizza Pot Pie for Home Chefs

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked sausage
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup sliced olives
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface.
  3. Fit one piece of dough into a greased pie dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine marinara, mozzarella, sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Spoon the filling mixture into the dough-lined dish.
  6. Roll out the second piece of dough and lay it over the filling.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
